Sharing memories and tributes to Jay Andrews - and his life well loved and lived.

Jay B. Andrews—whose generous spirit, gregarious personality and vivacious laugh made him the life of any party— was born on May 24, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky. He is much loved and will always be remembered by all his friends and family. Jay attended East Carolina University on an athletic scholarship, where he met his future bride, Patricia Hunley - married on New Year’s Eve 1966 - and many of the couple’s lifelong friends. Family, friends, golf and football were Jay’s passions. A devoted father, grandfather and uncle, Jay loved good food, fine wine, and a spine-tingling crime novel on a sunny beach. A gifted storyteller, Jay also loved a colorful joke, dancing, Motown and the Delta blues. Jay is survived by Pat, his loving wife of 45 years, his daughters Amy and Polly, son-in-law Greg, and three grandchildren Chase, Reilly and Brooke; his sister Marsha Lloyd and brothers Steve and David and the growing Andrews and Hunley families - and a rich family of friends around the world.
